OUR TAKE / EDITORIAL OPINION
Kalshi Sniper should be evaluated as an operating responsibility
Buying a bot license does not answer who will notice a failed run.
Kalshi Sniper’s documentation describes self-hosted bots, a default demo setup, exchange API credentials and bot operation. Our take is that self-hosting should move operational questions to the front of the evaluation. The interesting decision is not simply whether the software exposes a desired strategy, but whether the intended operator can understand and supervise its behavior over time.
We would consider it for a technically capable person prepared to maintain the environment and review the bot’s rules. The tradeoff is local operational control versus the work that comes with it. We would want a written account of startup behavior, credential handling, error visibility and the process for stopping activity. The product name should have no role in judging those properties or in assuming a trading advantage.
Begin with the documented demo configuration and create a run checklist before changing any settings. Interrupt a disposable test run, inspect what state remains and determine how the operator knows whether a requested action occurred. Check current documentation for the precise behavior rather than guessing from a successful launch. We have not run the bots or assessed strategy performance. Our criterion is whether the operator can explain and recover from a failed workflow as readily as they can start one.
