OUR TAKE / EDITORIAL OPINION
MarketMaster’s journal should hold the scanner accountable
Finding an interesting comparison is only half a research workflow.
MarketMaster describes cross-venue scanning, analytics, a trade journal and integrations, with a free scanner tier, a paid Pro plan and separately tiered API access. Our take is that the journal provides the most interesting test of the broader workspace. We would want a user to be able to connect a surfaced idea to the evidence considered, the reason for accepting or rejecting it and the later review.
This looks relevant to a researcher who currently loses context while moving between discovery and record keeping. The tradeoff is an integrated workspace versus the temptation to adopt every interpretation the scanner supplies. We would keep fair-value analysis labeled as analysis and require the user’s own reasoning to remain distinguishable from product-generated commentary.
An evaluation should follow one candidate from the initial scan through a written research note, then revisit it after new information arrives. Check whether the original context remains recoverable and whether the record allows a rejected idea to be examined as carefully as an accepted one. For an integration project, verify the separate API entitlement rather than inferring it from the consumer plan. Vendor metrics were still loading in the source review, so their operation remains unverified. Our criterion is continuity of reasoning across the workflow, not the number of ideas the scanner can produce.
